PLAY CAFE

IKEA CANADA
GRAPHI DESIGN, PRODUCTION DESIGN

IKEA Play Cafe was created to be an amazing, limited time shopping experience for its consumers. The pop-up store, located within Toronto (in the Entertainment District) was a place to play, shop and eat.

The cafe had activities that encouraged people to play together, challenge their taste buds and shope in a very whimsical way. The unique shopping experience utilized RFID embedded RORT wooden spoons, creating an experience like a magic wand. This allowed customers to purchase a plethora of curated IKEA items, fun recipes, tips + tricks - just by tapping a reader!

Among the activities available, there was an IKEA kitchen dance that invited people to compete against each other in a kitchen dance party and a giant pinball machine composed of baking items that was playable, which also created a magical photo op for social.
